Drilling of deep small diameter holes is especially difficult and therefore most designers tend to be afraid to specify micro holes in their drawings, believing that such drilling would be impossible.

Drilling operations are the most common process among machining operations, and it is said that this process occupies one third of the entire machining processes.

Recently, machining problems have focused on increasing hard-to-cut materials and more precise products. Light weight, thin, short and small size work pieces require drilling of very small diameter holes.
